For her undergraduate research, Yanwen studied the response of Mycosporine-like amino acids (MAAs) in Antarctica green algea under UV-B radiation. After graduating from Nanjing Normal University, she decided to pursue a Masters degree in Biotechnology at Brandeis University. In the Ting lab, she plans to improve her cloning and protein purification skills in molecular biology to identify new natural products by genome mining. She loves dogs and cats. In her free time, Yanwen likes watching movies and short videos, researching interesting dishes, and correcting her advisor.
